Outdoor Kitchen Shrink Wrapping
Shrink wrapping is a great way to protect your outdoor kitchen for the winter! We can shrink wrap outdoor kitchens on their own, but often times it is more cost effective to shrink wrap patio furniture with the outdoor kitchen in the same bundle. Exactly how we shrink wrap outdoor kitchens depends on the layout and construction of the kitchen. We typically ask for photos of the outdoor kitchen first, but often we'll stop by in person in order to give an accurate shrink wrap estimate.
How are Ourdoor Kitchens Shrink Wrapped?
Each outdoor kitchen is different, but our method is always similar. We always check with the customer to make sure that the outdoor kitchen has been winterized, with the propane and water shut off. We'll check with the customer to see if they would like to have patio furniture shrink wrapped with the outdoor kitchen. It is often more cost effective to shrink wrap everything in one bundle. Including patio furniture can also help us make the bundle more rectangular, which leads to a tighter and more durable shrink wrap bundle.
Once any furniture has been added, we'll consider how we will hold the shrink wrap down. We run strapping along the bottom edge of the kitchen and will hold it down by catching the strapping in stone, under a counter, or with a tie down. Then we'll measure the outdoor kitchen and cut a piece of shrink wrap to the appropriate size. Next, we'll heat the strapping into the shrink wrap and pull it tight. Then it's time to heat the shrink wrap! Finally, we'll tape any seems, sharp corners and holes that sometimes form when we are heating the shrink wrap. Then the outdoor kitchen is ready for the winter!
